SAVANNAH ART ASSOCIATION

The following classes are in the City Market gallery above Signature Gallery. Call 232-7731 to register and for supply lists.

Life Drawing, 7-9 p.m. $5. Every Tuesday.

Independent Study with Jerry Luke, Thursdays 10 a.m.-noon, $10

November classes

Dec. 8 and 9, Sandy Branam, Working with the Figure in Psatel. 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Bring a sack lunch or snacks. Call to register. $60. SKY LIGHT STUDIO

August Moser is offering a new class in figure drawing and painting that will feature one extended pose for each three-hour session over five consecutive days. Call Moser for schedules and information. $50 per week, $10 per session. (912) 604-6989, studio or (912) 236-7085, home.


IN PERSPECTIVE WITH BETSY HAUN

One-on-one instruction in drawing and perspective drawing held by appointment with this City Market artist, upstairs in Studio 5 of Franklin Ward South. For a supply list, more information or to schedule classes, call Haun at 897-6524.


THE ART SCHOOL

A new season of art instruction is beginning at The Art School. Class sizes are limited: Instruction is structured but not so rigid that creative expression is hindered. Classes at The Art School, 320 E. Montgomery Crossroad, Suite 6, will be held weekly and students may enroll at any time as long as space is available. B. FRAME DESIGN

Faux finishing and decorative painting workshops the first Friday and Saturday of each month. Students will learn several faux finish techniques, including marbling, leather, sky and clouds, crackles and various glazing effects. Classes at the 108 Shipyard Road studio are from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. both days. $295 fee includes materials and lunch both days. Call 354-0287 to register or for more information.


GLYNN ART ASSOCIATION

HILTON HEAD ART LEAGUE

A new season of workshops presented by the Hilton Head Art League is about to begin. Held in the Disney Studio of the Self Family Arts Center, the workshops are suitable for artists of varying experience. To register, or for more information, call the League at (843) 671-3242.

Classes at Artware

Bluffton Artisan Dawn Duff brings her Creativity Club to Artware, the funky, fun gift boutique in Main Street Village. All workshops require registration one week prior to the class to allow for materials to be ordered. The materials fee is due at registration and the workshop fee is due at the time of the class. Jan. 18, 6-7:30p.m.- Jewelry Making 101: Create a stunning eyeglass or sunglasses leash with high-end glass beads like the ones sold in expensive boutiques. $15 materials fee, $15 workshop fee.

Feb. 15, 6-8:30p.m.- Silk Painting 101: For beginners to learn silk painting basics by painting a beautiful pre-gutta throw pillow cover. $21 materials fee, $17 workshop fee.

April 19, 6-8p.m.AND April 20, 10a.m.-noon - Mosaic Garden Sign - Your last name, house number or welcome sign in charming mosaics on wood, using tile and found materials. $20 materials fee, $20 workshop fee.

KIDS CLASS: Jan. 21 (Kids have off school) - We'll do polymer clay beads and painted trivets 11 a.m.-1 p.m.. $15 tuition fee includes all materials.

Creativity Club Workshops at Creation Station

Artisan Dawn Duff teaches all adult workshops. They are held on Wednesdays at Creation Station, Cordillo Parkway, off of Pope Avenue. Please call Beth at (843) 842 5738 to register at least one week prior to the class to enable the instructor to have the correct amount of materials, most of which are included in the workshop fee.

Jan. 23, 9 a.m.-noon - Decoupage & Painted Plate - Create the same type of decorative plate seen in upscale gift shops.

Jan. 30, 10 a.m.-2p.m.- Faux Italian Tile Painting - Permanent paints and decorative techniques for tiles to frame or use later for the Mosaic Table Top workshop.

Feb. 13, 10 a.m.-2p.m.- Mosaics 101 - Learn mosaic basics and create a handsome frame using tiles and chards.

Feb. 20, 10 a.m.-4p.m.- Mosaic Table Top - Bring your own tired little table or use one of ours to create a whimsical piece for your home.

March 6, 10 a.m.-2p.m.- Silk Painting 101 - For Beginners to learn silk painting basics by painting a beautiful pre-gutta throw pillow cover.

March 13, 9 a.m.-12p.m.- Water Color Silk Scarf - Be your own Designer using the watercolor technique on a beautiful 8x54 inch Habotai silk scarf.

March 20, 10 a.m.-2p.m.- Silk Painting with Resist - Introduction to resist on silk to create a unique wall hanging that you will design and create.

March 27, 10 a.m.-3p.m. - Create a one-of-a-kind original design on a Silk Habotai Folding Sun Hat that transforms from a 6-inch disk to an 18-inch hat, a great gift.

April 10, 9 a.m.-Noon - Jewelry Making 101 - Create a stunning eyeglass or sunglasses leash with high-end glass beads like the ones sold in expensive boutiques.

April 24, 10 a.m.-2p.m.- Glass and Tile Etching - Learn a new skill and design a decorative and usable plate to compliment your dEcor.

May 8, 10 a.m.-4p.m.- Mosaic Garden Sign - Your last name, house number or welcome sign in charming mosaics on wood, using tile and found materials. May 15, 10 a.m.-3p.m.and May 22, 10 a.m.-2p.m.- Mosaic Gazing Ball for the Garden - Make a statement with a dramatic yet personal gift or piece for your garden. This is a two- part Workshop.


Creativity Club Workshops at The Live Oak Emporium Southern Artisans Center

Bluffton Artisan Dawn Duff will now be holding the Creativity Club Workshops at the Live Oak Emporium in its new location at 1111 Boundary St., Beaufort, which is right across the street from the Boys & Girls Club. All workshops will be held on Tuesday from 10 a.m.-1p.m.Pre-registration and a materials deposit is required one week prior to the class. December 18, 10 a.m.-1p.m. - Victorian Mosaic Ornaments -Create three different shaped Ornaments that reflect the light with beautifully hand cut colored mirror tiles, embellished with tassels & organza ribbon.

School days off at Creation Station

Feb. 6, 1:30-3:30 p.m. - Backpack Danglers and Keychains from Plaster and Polymer Clay

Feb. 18, 1:30-3:30 p.m.. - Tie Dye Whatever!

March 21, 1:30-3:30 p.m. - Learn new polymer clay techniques & create a cool candle holder, as well as a tile trivet.

April 16 and April 18th - A two-part class to make a beautiful rocker for your American Girl Doll. We will use paint & decoupage techniques for this special project. Moms are welcome, too! 9:30-11:30 a.m. both days.
