Dec. 8-24, Festival of Trees
This is the 17th annual installment of Parent and Child's a celebration of that traditional holiday icon - the Christmas tree. About 40 live trees will festoon the lobby of the Savannah Civic Center, each decorated in a special theme by a community or civic group, school or individual. Free admission. Special events include: Gala Preview, a black tie event beginning at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 7. $150 each; Senior Tea, Dec. 11, 2-4 p.m. RSVP by Dec. 3; Sounds of the Season school choral performance, Dec. 12, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. For details on special events and ticket information to those programs, call Parent and Child, (912) 238-2777.

Dec. 6, 10, 13, I Cantori
"I Cantori," will celebrate Advent and holiday music with a series of concerts. The 24-voice ensemble will perform a range of music that spans more than 250 years. All concerts begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students at the door. Locations include: Dec. 6, St. Peter's Episcopal Church on Skidaway Island; Dec. 10, St. Paul's Episcopal on Abercorn and 34th; and Dec. 17, St. Francis of the Islands Episcopal Church on Wilmington Island. Dec. 8, "The Nutcracker"
Savannah Dance Theatre presents this performance at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. at Trustees Theatre. $16 adults, $12 students, discount for seniors. 897-2100.
Dec. 13, Paint with a Fish!
A workshop on Gyotaku, the art of fish printing, will be held 7-8:30 p.m. at the Tybee Island Marine Science Center. Bring T-shirt, pillowcase or tote bag to create holiday gift. Refreshments served. $6 per person, $5 for members of TIMSC. 786-5917.
