SCAD galleries will highlight new faculty works, others in Gallery Hop
SCAD to Exhibit Foundation Studies Faculty Show
Savannah College of Art and Design foundation studies faculty will display their narrative works in painting, drawing and printmaking at the third floor gallery at Ex Libris, 228 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., from Jan. 8-Feb. 4. This exhibition is free and open to the public.
The foundation studies program encompasses a curriculum of beginning, intermediate and advanced studio courses including drawing, 2-D and 3-D design, color theory and life drawing.
The reception for this exhibition will be featured in the January Gallery Hop on Jan. 9, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
SCAD January Gallery Hop
The Savannah College of Art and Design presents a Gallery Hop on Jan. 9, 5:30-7:30 p.m., in eight galleries throughout the historic district. The event is free and open to the public.
This month's Gallery Hop will feature:
- Alexander Hall Gallery, 668 Indian St.
"Big Picture," an exhibition featuring large-scale 2-D works for sale.
- La Galerie Bleue, 3515 Montgomery St.
"Current Circuit," featuring multimedia installations by SCAD video/film, sound design and foundation studies students, faculty and alumni.
- Bergen Hall Gallery, 101 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
"Silverworks 2002," featuring work from the2002 Silverworks catalog.
- Red Gallery, 201 E. Broughton St.
"Culture Shock," celebrating American popular culture with memorable and nostalgic images and products.
- Pei Ling Chan Gallery, 322 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd
"Life Lines," featuring the unique style of artist Beatrice Caracciolo.
- Pinnacle Gallery, 320 E. Liberty St.
"First Impressions: The Art of New Faculty," the second annual exhibition introducing new faculty members and their work to SCAD and the Savannah community.
- Ex Libris, 228 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
The Foundation Studies Faculty Show, featuring narrative works in painting, drawing, and printmaking by three foundation studies faculty members.
- May Poetter Gallery, 342 Bull St.
"Student Showcase," featuring award-winning work by undergraduate and graduate SCAD students.
Shuttles will run between the galleries, refreshments will be served and participants may begin at any of the stops.
