Fall Art Fest being planned for Oct. 20-21 at pavillion

A delay didn't hurt the annual Tybee Art Association Art, held this year over Memorial Day Weekend on the pavilion at the beach.

If anything, crowds boosted by the holiday contributed to the event, which had been postponed due to a conflict with the annual Orange Crush Weekend at the beach. Organizers are planning another Art Fest for this year - currently slated for Oct. 20-21 on the pavilion.

Winners of the hurried show were a mix of newcomers and familiar faces. Taylor Lominick of Charleston took Best fo Show honors for a blown glass piece. This was Lominick's first entry in the Tybee Art Fest.

Other winners included:

First, Henry and Mary Foreman, sweetgrass basket; Second, Sally Bostwick, oil painting; Third, Benjamin Turner, oil painting; and honorable mention to Phil Stark for a watercolor; Ken Wheeler and Nigel Law for photography; and Gina Messervy for an acrylic.

For information on the fall Art Fest, call the association's Lighthouse Gallery at (912) 786-5920.
