SCAD professor has home rehab featured on HGTV program

The repair and restoration of an 1890s Savannah home owned by Savannah College of Art and Design professor and painter Suzanne Jackson will be featured in an upcoming episode of "If Walls Could Talk."

Jackson has been restoring the duplex to share with her mother - and to provide plenty of space for painting and gardening. Originally described as being "in rough condition," Jackson has grown even more fond of the house since learning of its history - and its connections to early Savannah rail transportation and the Starland Dairy.

Although missing its original mantles and ironwork, Jackson has re-enlisted some 1920 and '30s-era lighting to give it a period feel.

This episode of "If Walls Could Talk," airs Monday, June 4 at 10 p.m. and June 5 at 1 a.m. on HGTV.
